These are DIY repair kits for the Silver Surfer Vaporizer (SSV), Super Surfer Vaporizer (SUP), Da Buddha Vaporizer (DBV), or Life Saber Vaporizer (LSV)! If you are having an issue with one of your Elev8 Vaporizer desktop units, these repair kits have got you covered! Not sure which kits you will need to get your vaporizer up and running? While we try to include as much information as possible to help you troubleshoot the issues with your vaporizer, it will always be easier to just order all of the kits that you may need, so we offer discounts for ordering each of these kits together. If you are unsure of which component needs to be replaced, simply order a Dimmer Switch Repair Kit and a Heater Repair Kit for only $40 (a $10 discount), and if your unit doesn't already have a Heater Stand Upgrade Kit installed then order one for only $10 (a $2 discount) and replace all of these components at the same time.

NOTE: If you choose to repair your vaporizer at home using these Repair Kits, Elev8 is not liable for any damage caused to the vaporizer or its components due to incorrect installation. These repairs are fairly straight-forward, but they do require some specific tools and a basic level of knowledge on how to install electrical components. If you are concerned about your ability to install electrical components then we strongly recommend that you initiate a repair service and let us handle installing the new components.

The Silver Surfer Vaporizer, Da Buddha Vaporizer, and Life Saber Vaporizer carry a 3-year Manufacturer's Warranty, and the Super Surfer Vaporizer carries a 2-year Manufacturer's Warranty. If your unit stopped working due to failure of one or more electrical components and your unit is still covered under warranty then you will likely only need to cover the shipping costs to send your unit in for a repair service.

NOTE FOR SUPER SURFER OWNERS: We do not offer replacement dimmer switches or heater stands for the Super Surfer Vaporizer as the unit is controlled with a PCB, and the heater stand should never be removed. The only Super Surfer repair which can be done at home is the Heater Repair Kit, for any other type of failure we strongly recommend that you send your Super Surfer in to us for a repair service.

How Do I Know Which Kit to Buy?

Dimmer Switch Repair Kit:

5-wire Dimmers are used in all new Silver Surfer Vaporizer and Da Buddha Vaporizers. If you have one of these units and you need to replace the Dimmer, then you should order the 5-wire Dimmer.

Older SSVs and DBVs used 2-wire Dimmers, but these units can easily be converted to the 5-wire Dimmer configuration by following this video tutorial.

2-wire Dimmers are used in all Life Saber Vaporizers.

If you have an LSV and you need a new Dimmer Switch, DO NOT ORDER the 5-wire Dimmer! It is not possible to install a 5-wire Dimmer in an LSV!

Heater Repair Kit:

110V Heaters are used in any country that has a 100-120 Volt power standard (USA power cords/outlets)

This includes North America (Canada, United States, Mexico), Central America, some South American countries (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Venezuela), some Asian countries (Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan), some African countries (Liberia and Libya), and some parts of the Netherlands.

Some of these countries do not have standardized home power voltages.
Using a 110V Heater Repair Kit in a home with 220V power will cause the Heater to 'pop' which can damage your glass Heater Cover and/or the vaporizer itself. This could also damage the Dimmer Switch. Always be sure to verify your home's voltage output before installing a new Heater Repair Kit.

220V Heaters are used in any country that has a 200-240 Volt power standard (EU, UK, or AUS power cords/outlets)

This includes all of Europe (excluding some parts of the Netherlands), all of Australia/Oceania, most African countries, most Asian countries, and some South American countries.

Using a 220V Heater in a home with 110V power will not damage your vaporizer, but it will cause the Heater to only output half of its normal heat, so your unit will not be able to vaporize properly. Always be sure to verify your home's voltage output before installing a new Heater Repair Kit.

If you aren't sure about your home's voltage standard, contact your local electric company before ordering a new Heater Repair Kit!

Heater Stand Kits:

The Heater Stand Upgrade Kit is the modern version of our heater stand. All new Silver Surfer Vaporizers and Da Buddha Vaporizers come equipped with this heater stand, and all of our glass Heater Covers are sized to fit this type of Heater Stand. If your SSV or DBV does not currently have this type of heater stand, we strongly recommend that you upgrade your vaporizer to this version to ensure compatibility with our glass Heater Covers.

This heater stand is not compatible with the Super Surfer Vaporizer. The Super Surfer Vaporizer uses an unique heater stand system which is specific to the Super Surfer Vaporizer, and all Super Surfer Vaporizers use the same heater stand. You should never need to replace the heater stand in a Super Surfer Vaporizer.
This heater stand is not compatible with the Life Saber Vaporizer. If you have an LSV you will need to order the Spacer & Shim Packet.

The Spacer & Shim Packet was used in older Silver Surfer Vaporizers and Da Buddha Vaporizers but we stopped using this style of heater stand in those units many years ago and switched to the newer Heater Stand Upgrade Kit. The Spacer & Shim is still used in all Life Saber Vaporizers. The Spacer & Shim needs to be replaced any time that the glass Heater Cover is replaced, and it is not an ideal system since all of the glass that we produce now is sized for the newer heater stand. We strongly recommend installing a Heater Stand Upgrade Kit or sending your unit in to us to have one installed if your unit does not already use one, but we will continue to offer replacement Spacer & Shim Packets for any customers who want to continue using them.

Troubleshooting Guide

Common Dimmer Switch Fault Conditions:

Dimmer Switch doesn't click.
Indicator light doesn't turn on.
Dimmer position does not change the temperature of the vaporizer.

Common Heater Fault Conditions:

Heater is not giving off any heat. Heater does not visibly glow if the knob is turned up to full temperature.

Give the heater a few minutes to warm up before checking this. It helps to check this in a dark room.

NOTE: If your Heater is giving off heat, and it is getting hotter or colder by changing the position of the knob, but the vaporizer is not producing vapor at the highest temperature setting, then your Heater is not faulty and you likely just need to adjust the height of the Heater. The top of the Heater should be approximately 1/8" to 1/4" from the 'roof' of the glass Heater Cover.

Using the Indicator Light to Help Diagnose:

The Indicator Light near the power cord should get brighter as the knob is turned up (clockwise), and the light should get darker as the knob is turned down (counter-clockwise).
If the Indicator Light is functioning correctly but the vaporizer is not getting hot, then this indicates a fault with the Heater and you should purchase a Heater Repair Kit.
If the Indicator Light is not turning on at all regardless of the position of the knob, then this indicates a fault with the Dimmer Switch and you should purchase a Dimmer Switch Repair Kit.
If the Indicator Light is not getting brighter or darker along with the position of the knob, then this indicates a fault with the Dimmer Switch and you should purchase a Dimmer Switch Repair Kit.

This condition is typically true for both the Indicator Light and the Heater. In this type of Dimmer Switch failure, the Dimmer Switch will only output its maximum voltage so the Heater and Indicator Light will always be at full power when the dimmer is on, regardless of the position of the knob.
