Removable Downstem with Colored Rim — 4.5 inches or less only!

This is a simple removable downstem made by the team of glassblowers at the Elev8 Premier studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado. These downstems have a colored rim around the joint, and they can be ordered with a 10mm female inner joint (14mm male outer joint), or with a 14mm female inner joint (19mm male outer joint). The size of the downstem's outer joint should match the size of the female joint on your water pipe, and the size of the downstem's inner joint should match the size of the bowl/banger/etc. that you use on your water pipe. Please specify the preferred length for your downstem in the text entry field provided, the following procedures can be used to determine the optimal downstem length for your rig.

IMPORTANT NOTE: These downstems can only be made to lengths of 4.5 inches or shorter!

How to measure the length for a removable downstem:

If you have a downstem that you want to match:

• Use a caliper or ruler to measure the old downstem from the top of the outer male joint to the tip of the downstem. 
• You should not be measuring the full length of the downstem, you should be measuring from the top of the outer male joint (the joint that mates with the female joint on your rig or water pipe) not from the top of the inner female joint that holds the bowl/banger, etc.
• Specify the measurement in millimeters or inches. Millimeters is preferred for a more accurate measurement.

If you have a rig that is currently without a downstem:

• Use a pencil, drinking straw, or similar item to determine your measurement. 
• Put the pencil or similar item down into the rig of your joint until one end of the pencil hits the inner wall of your rig. 
• Now raise the pencil or straw so that the end is at least 1 inch away from the interior wall of your rig. 
• Use a pen or something sharp to mark the pencil or straw at the point where it exits the female joint on your rig. 
• Measure the length of the straw from the marking to the end that was inside of your rig. 

Features:

• Choose between either a 10mm female inner joint/14mm male outer joint or 14mm female inner joint/19mm male outer joint. The outer male joint should match the size of the female joint on your water pipe. The inner female joint should match the size of the flower bowl or banger which you use on your water pipe.
• 4.5 inches long by default.
• We will cut the downstem to length for free. This downstem can only be cut to lengths of 4.5 inches or shorter!
