This is an incredible set of functional glass art by Chris Hurley Glass, titled "First Touch". The set is comprised of two hand pipes and a framed glass platform for display. Multiple glass techniques are utilized in the construction of this set, in Chris Hurley's words: "Flameworked glass, machine rolled glass, High Fire Ceramic paints on float glass, metal framed." Two friends lounge among the clouds and share a touch, as Hurley says, "You know that feeling..." The two friends are actually hand pipes, their tails are the stems and mouthpieces, and the carbs are located at the top of each of their heads. The display platform is made from layered blue glass painted with white clouds to give the relaxing friends a serene setting.
