Liz’s Glass blower name is her real name, Liz Wright. She says preferred her real name to an Instagram handle. Liz started working glass in Early 2011 after taking some classes at her local community college. The course she was taking had her doing hot shop work with soft glass. Liz expressed her interest in borosilicate glass to her instructor who recommended she go to Virginia Beach at VCU (Virginia CommonWealth University) and learn from Emilio Santini. Liz’s favorite technique in glass is sculpting and she says her work is inspired by sea life because she grew up by the beach. I asked Liz what her favorite boro color was and if there was anything that she’d like to see added to the boro palette, she responded that she would like a pink orange and that shed like to see more purples and pinks in general. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, fishing, and learning new crafts such as knitting. When asked about her view on aliens or whether or not they would want a klondike bar she replied that she thinks aliens are already here and that they have greadter more advanced klondike ice creams.
