Every year the Elev8 team gets psyched up for our Glass and Grass Backyard Bash, but this year we decided to do something a little more special. Elev8 Veterans does a monthly fundraising event at the Elev8 Premier studio called Elev8 Veterans First Saturday, and this year we decided to combine the Glass and Grass Backyard Bash with the Elev8 Veterans First Saturday event to help raise awareness for the incredible work that Elev8 Veterans is doing for military veterans who are returning to non-military life.
This event was fantastic and we were so excited to see everyone who came out to support Elev8 Veterans. The entire Elev8 Premier glassblowing team was there: Steve Kelnhofer, Simply Jeff Glass, Sean O'tron Glass, Exposure Glass, Shimkus Glass, The Glass Parrot, and even some friends of the Premier family like Love Glass showed up in support of our military veterans. Elev8 Pizza Co. used this event as an opportunity to soft-launch their new food truck and they were serving up delicious personal pizzas made the Elev8 way.
Throughout the event the Elev8 Premier team was crafting one-of-a-kind glass skulls using a signature mold that we discussed during our interview with Bob Snodgrass, and this attracted a lot of attention from the attendees. The Elev8 Premier team also did some live demos and held some Liquid Arts classes for those in attendance who wanted to try their hand at blowing glass.
This was an awesome event where the entire Elev8 team was able to help raise awareness for Elev8 Veterans' mission. Our hearts go out to everyone who attended or donated their time to assist this wonderful non-profit organization. Elev8 Veterans wants to help rehabilitate military veterans back into civilian life by using non-conventional therapeutic activities like glassblowing and aromatherapy.
