SSV vaporizer and parts. Great product. Form and function make this a positive purchase. The wand did not fit its screen very well so customer service replaced it immediately. The level of customer care is high. This is my second SSV, the first lasted 10 years and I just did a full overhaul with parts that cost a fraction of a new SSV. Good purchase overall.

Huge upgrade to previous versions. 20.8 screens are so much easier to use than the smaller screens for the previous style wands.

This wand is better than the original that came with my Silver Surfer several years ago! I knew I would eventually drop and break it, and I lived dangerously for years without a spare. Rush ordered two when I finally dropped it for the 1000th time onto the wood floor, and was pleasantly surprised that the bowl and the hole at the bottom of the bowl is bigger. Best improved feature is ease of changing the screen. I like to change my screen every few bowls, or when I notice increased resistance. The vinyl tubing is softer and more flexible than the kind from homebrew supply shops. Buy two and be prepared!

How do I install a new tube or hose into my Spherical Wand?

The vinyl hose slides into the end of the wand, but the hose must fit snugly otherwise it will slide right back out when you are trying to use it, and that's no good! For this reason, the wand is made with a 'lip' at the end which acts as a choke point, and it's more narrow than the rest of the wand. This helps the wand make an airtight connection with the hose. It can be a little tricky to get the hose to go in past the initial narrow opening. Sometimes the end of the hose needs to be slightly pinched (this will create a small fold on one side of the tubing, sort of like a taco) and when you push the hose in past the choke point at the end of the wand the fold will 'pop out' and the hose will make a nice seal with the wand. It can also help to dip the end of the hose in an inch or two of water to lubricate it. Once the hose is pushed in past the lip at the end of the wand it should be held firmly in place. How do I install a new 20.8mm Screen in my Spherical Wand?

The Spherical Wand has an inner rim made using a technique called a maria which holds the screen in place. To get the edge of the screen past the narrow opening of the rim you need to first use your finger and palm to form the screen into a bowl-like shape resembling a contact lens, and then push it down into the rim with the concave side pointing towards you (bulging towards the opening of the joint). You can then use a blunt object to push down on the bulge of the screen to spread the edges outwards. Here is a video which explains this in further detail.

I liked the older version of the Spherical Wand, can I still order that?

The older version of our Spherical Wand had a smaller spherical joint, and we think that the new version is much better all around: it holds a larger Flavor Disc, it gives much better airflow, the screens fit better, and it holds more dry herb. We can sometimes make the Old School Spherical Wand by special request if you call us at 719-570-9928.
