Learn to blow glass at the Liquid Arts Experience!

There is nothing quite like the feeling of melting glass, and if you've always wanted to try your hand at lampworking (glassblowing with a torch), then let the team of experienced glassblowers at the Elev8 Premier studio guide you on your first journey into the art of the flame. The Elev8 Premier glassblowing studio was founded in 2004 in Colorado Springs, and collectively our team has decades of experience in making production glass for the Silver Surfer Vaporizer and beyond, as well as in making beautiful artistic pieces or 'headies'. 

Purchasing this product will grant you one Liquid Arts Experience class at the Elev8 Premier studio in Colorado Springs, but you must also fill out the form below to request a date for your class. We can't run a Liquid Arts Experience for just a single person, so if you are buying a class for a single student try to request a day where at least one slot is already filled, otherwise we may need to contact you to reschedule your booking. Please note that we typically only do classes on the weekend. Also if you are purchasing a class for a single student then you must sign up for one of the days which says LAE 4 OPEN (or less than 4) as we cannot run a Liquid Arts Experience class for only a single student.

Buy in a group and save

• 1 seat is $125
• 3-5 seats are $110 each 
• 6-8 seats are $100 each

If you must reschedule or cancel, you NEED TO KNOW:

• 50% of payment is non refundable if you cancel (so make sure you want to do this before purchasing!)
• Reschedule within 48 hours with no fee.
• Rescheduling between 48-24 hours before your scheduled class incurs a 10% rescheduling fee.
• Rescheduling within 24 hours of your scheduled class incurs a 20% rescheduling fee.
• If you do not show up, you miss the class and the cost is non-refundable.  The blower must still be paid to be there.

In this beginner class we will go over the basics of glassblowing.  We will go over the parts of the torch and the different types of flame: neutral, reduction and oxidizing.  We will go over the safety of glassblowing in this class so that we have fun with no injuries.  Basically hot glass burns and sharp glass cuts. 

In this glassblowing class we will also go over marble making and pendant making.  We will only go over the basics here as there is a lot to learn about how the glass reacts as it is heated in the flame.  Adding loops for the first time can be challenging so this is why our instructor will be able to finalize any piece you are having difficulty with.  

Note that glassblowing for the first time is FUN, but it also takes a lot of brain power, so don't be surprised if you feel drained afterwards!  Your brain is doing things it has not done before and is being pushed hard.

What you get with a Liquid Arts Experience glassblowing class:  

• 4 hours of studio time.  You will be on the torch for about 3 hours as there is safety and project lessons that we have to go over. 
• Eye protection is supplied
• Fuel and oxygen are supplied
• Torch is supplied
• Glass is supplied

Considerations to take:

• Dress warm on cold days as we have a very good exhaust system so if it's cold outside, it's cold inside.
• Must wear shoes
• Bring some snacks if you do not want vending machine snacks
• Be prepared to stand for 4 hours

How It Works When You Buy This Class:

• Your order will be passed along to Elev8 Premier.  The manager will contact you within 2 business days to schedule your time.
• You can book nearly any Saturday or Sunday if you buy a pair of tickets, or you see 4-1 open slots in the calendar. 
• You will be contacted via phone to discus the times.
• Our studio is only open for classes on the weekends as we are a working studio and the staff is in production mode.
